I recently got my name changed. I have changed it on my profile successfully but when I send emails my old name still shows sent from.

You can change the name on https://www.icloud.com/
Open the Mail app, and click the gears icon to open the Preferences.
In the preferences panel open the "Accounts" tab and enter your new "Full Name" for all mail aliases.

that looks like it works but it doesn't work for me. my iCloud email still shows my old name
