transfer songs from shuffle to mac (or PC)

Hello,

I have an iPod shuffle that I had syncing with an old computer that has since been sold. None of the songs were purchased from iTunes, all ripped from CDs I can no longer find. I was wondering if it is possible to take the songs off of the shuffle and save them on my new Macbook Pro?

I know this is possible with a regular iPod using PodUtil and the like, but I haven't been able to find one that supports the shuffle. The closest was PodAmp which detected the shuffle, but did not seem to work when I wanted to pull songs off it.

When I plug the ipod into my mac, itunes says that it is associated with another computer and that it has to delete everything to start over.. I don't mind doing this, but only AFTER I get the music off of it 🙂

Any help would be GREATLY appreciated!!! Thanks so much in advance!

P.S: I should add that if for some strange reason this can not be done on a mac.. I do have a PC I can use as well.
