Is there a way to change the document canvas size without all objects scaling?

When I go to slide size in the inspector and hit 'custom size' is there a way for this to be done without everything on the slide and all my masters changing scale to apparently match it? If I paste something in from another document it's got the right font size and everything. Is there a plist I can edit or something?
