i did all the steps and itunes is still not reading my device. what do i do?

i did all the steps to try to get my device out of recovery mode and itunes is still reading my device. what do i do?

They mean that after putting the device in recovery mode, iTunes does not read the device. There is no option that comes up after connecting the device so we may decide to back up or reset entirely

i found that plugging device through a different usb port might help.
