Possible to extend slider in music app?

I am an English teacher. Recently I start using iPad 3 for my teaching. So far so good, but something that bugs me is that sometimes in listening session, I have to move back a few secs to make sure my students get the word. It's a bit tough for such a short slider bar in the Apple's music app. It even doesn't extend itself in landscape position.

Is this possible to extend the slider bar? Ideally the entire length of the iPad. I'm using ios 8.3.
