I have Address Book 4.0.6 on a flash drive. I want to transfer from data from it to AB 5.0.3 on OS 10.6.8. When I use the Import command I can't access the older AB. Is there a way to do this?
Export it from the older Address book to vCard VCF format into a folder of its own on the Finder.
Then you can import with the new Address book the files you export.

I now have all the names imported to the new book but no data: addresses, phone nos. etc.
It appears that I do have the data. I don't know why it seemed it wasn't there the first time I looked. In any case the problem is now solved.
