Q: How to choose a photo from Photo Library or web as user photo?

  • Retina Macbook Pro 13" OS X 10.10.3 Yosemite
  • Photos 1.0

 

I can't see all of the photos in my iCloud Photo Library in the photo picker when I try to change my user account photo. I used to be able to drag and drop photos from iPhoto or the web into the photo picker to change it but I think since I updated to Yosemite I haven't been able to do so. Does anyone know how to choose a custom photo or also have this problem?

If the photo you want to use has a face assigned to it and that person is in your Contacts it will show up under faces

Contacts001.jpg

 

Otherwise you'll have to drag the photo to the Desktop and from there into the Contacts card. Once in the card delete the file from the Desktop.
