Can't put MP4 movies iPhone 6 Plus

Right after I bought my iPhone 6 Plus I dragged my MP4 movies and it was successfully placed in my iPhone. Now, I don't know what happened I dragged the same movies I dragged before and now it says that it cannot be played on my iPhone. I didn't convert my movies files to "iPhone" or "iPad" version or something. Just plain MP4 conversion.

What happened? Why all of a sudden it doesn't support my MP4 movies? Is not placing MP4 movies files for a very long time affects the iPhone's capability to read MP4 files?

What is worse is these MP4 clips does not play but pops up on recently played list. It acts as though it has played it already when in fact it has not. I am sure it has to do with some iOS changes we may have inadvertently updated? Wish someone can actually provide a response to what has actually gone wrong bec previously I could play all of them.

Hi Miguel Z,

The resource below explains how to get your video files onto your iPhone:

iTunes: Frequently asked questions about viewing and syncing videos - Apple Support
https://support.apple.com/en-us/HT201784

Can I sync my own video through iTunes?

Yes, as long as the video file is in a format that iTunes can re-encode. Add the file to your iTunes library and then create versions optimized for your device using the File > Create New Version menu.

What video content works with mobile devices?

Video content purchased from the iTunes Store.

Video files after using the iTunes File > Create New Version > Create iPod or iPhone version option.

iTunes Store Movie Rentals (Requires iTunes 9 or later).

Does the video need to be encoded in a special way?

All mobile devices which iTunes can sync video to can play the following video formats:

H.264

File formats: .m4v, .mp4, and .mov

Video: Up to 768 kbits/sec, 320 x 240, 30 frames per second (fps), Baseline Profile up to Level 1.3.

Audio: AAC-LC up to 160 kbits/sec, 48 Khz, and stereo audio.

MPEG-4

File formats: .m4v, .mp4, and .mov

Video: Up to 2.5 Mbits/sec, 480 x 480, 30 fps, Simple Profile.

Audio: AAC-LC up to 160 kbits/sec, 48 Khz, stereo audio.

Take care,

- Judy

I seem to be having the same issue as Miguel Z. I have an iPhone 6s+ and have had a bunch of videos on it since I purchased the phone, I also had these same videos on my previous iPhone 5. The videos are also on my iPad Air. I have not had an issue playing any of these videos on any of the devices in the past. I connected my iPhone 6s+ to my iMac today to sync a number of items and I received the error that says the videos can't be copied to my iPhone as they cannot be played on this iPhone. I just finished watching each of the videos on my iPad, plugged my iPad in and I am getting the same error on my iPad. What changed to make them not compatible? I haven't modified the videos in any way, so why all of a sudden are they not compatible?

Unfortunately the response above doesn't really address the question. The links merely tell me what is compatible. The videos were compatible before and now they aren't.

Thank you
