Q: iPhoto

All my photos that were in iPhoto are now in Photos, however, the iPhoto program is no longer in my Applications folder so I can't open it and continue using it as Apple's instructions say I can do. How do I get iPhoto back? And can we still create cards & calendars through Apple?

I've followed your instructions but iPhoto does not appear in my purchases list. When I bought my iMac in 2009 it had the iPhoto software on it. I have updated it regularly until I couldn't. The iPhoto app that appears in my applications folder is 9.4.3 with a white circle with a forward slash in the middle over it. So I paid for the software but it isn't listed under purchases. It also is not hidden.

I have updated it regularly until I couldn't. The iPhoto app that appears in my applications folder is 9.4.3

iPhoto came preinstalled with a Mac with installer DVDs, right? iPhoto 9.4.3 is the last iPhoto update that does not require to associate iPhoto with your AppleID at the App Store.  If you never updated beyond 9.4.3 to iPhoto 9.5.1 and your iPhoto came on installer DVDs, you missed the window of opportunity to associate your iPhoto purchase with your AppleID and you cannot update to 9.6.1, because you only can do this by reinstalling a purchase registered at the AppStore.

You could try to talk the Mac App Store Support into providing a Redeem Code, so you can update to 9.6.1. Be prepared to have to provide a proof of purchase.  But it is not guaranteed that they will do it.  Use the "Support" link in the Quick Links section of the main App Store pane.
