Q: Slow wi-fi, Mac mini 2014
Friday I received my brand new mac mini, which replaced my 5 y.o. laptop.
I'm pretty happy so far but my wi-fi connection has been really slow. I dont have any bluetooth peripherals connected. I am using a usb 3 external Seagate storage, but I've tried unplugging it and that didnt change speeds. All my other pcs, tablets and phones dont have that issue. .
The funny thing is I bought a game on the app store, Batman Arkham City, and it still hasnt downloaded - 11GB. Last night I left the pc on during the night, and this morning it said there was an error and I need to download the game again. It's estimated download time is 3 days!? I should be getting 5MB/s, not 150kb/s. This is the router I'm using - Linksys E2500
Obviously something isnt ok, but Im working the weekends so I dont have the time to get to the bottom of it.
I would appreciate your suggestions and help.
Cheers
Mac mini

this looks healthy enough.
maybe a reset of the modem and wifi router helps?
disconnect both from power, after 10 secs reconnect the modem, let it start up fully, then reconnect the wifi router, let it start up.
Still slowness? start Airport in your mac: set the channel in the wifi router to 12 (now at 7).
