Why do some of the images end up displaying as a blue box with a question mark? This problem has been around for about a decade now, is Apple ever going to fix this problem. Is there anything, other than using another browser, I could do to get around this ever present nuisance?

Yosemite 10.10.2 (14C1514)
A small blue square with a question mark in it means the page code says an image should be displayed but the file location can't be found.
Nothing Apple can do to fix it.
I suggest you start by taking the steps recommended in this support article.
Thank you both, Kirk and Linc! I thought it might have been Apple’s problem since many times when I switch to Firefox or Chrome the problem disappears. Thanks for the link to the support article; a lot of good info. I’ll tinker around with it as time goes by, although, I did try some of the things mentioned.
