I am tidying up disk space on my Macbook Air which is running OS X Yosemite v 10.10.3. I also have the latest versions of Keynote (v6.5.3), Numbers (v3.5.3) & Pages (v5.5.3).
So my question is; can I safely remove/ iWorks 09 which has Keynote v5.3, Numbers v2.3 & Pages v4.3?

Yes just delete the application file in applications folder.
However Its very useful to keep Keynote 5.3 as it has a number of tools that are not available in the latest versions.

Can I assume the same for iMovie v9.0.9 vs latest v 10.0.8; or is there some tools in this older version worth keeping also?
I only have version 10 installed, which is the best version released to date.
