Garageband song from iPad to Mac

I have tried every suggestion to get songs from my iPad to Mac and nothing works!! The cloud shows nothing, I Cloud drive nothing and the songs if I download through i tunes are not opening in Garageband or logic as the format is wrong or not separating into tracks??.

I like to draft on my iPad and then continue on the MAC but it is impossible!

Is it really meant to be this difficult!!! FFS!

Which GarageBand version are you using?

You will not find your GarageBand iOS songs on iCloud Drive or in the Finder; they are saved to "Documents in the Cloud" and only accessible from the File menu in GarageBand.

On your iPad save the song to iCloud like this:

Upload a song to iCloud

  • In the My Songs browser, tap Edit.
  • Tap the song you want to upload, then tap the iCloud button User uploaded file.
  • Tap Upload Song to iCloud. An iCloud badge shows that the song is ready to upload.

On your Mac in GarageBand 10 go to the File menu:

User uploaded file

And the songs you are storing in iCloud from your Mac will appear, when you select "Open iCloud Song".

How are you sharing to iTunes? Like below - as a GarageBAnd song and not as an audio file?

Send a GarageBand song to iTunes

  • Tap My Songs, then tap Select.
  • Tap the song you want to send, then tap the Action button User uploaded file.
  • Tap Share Song via iTunes.
  • Do one of the following:
    • To send the song as a GarageBand song, tap GarageBand.
    • To send the song as an audio file, tap iTunes, then tap Share.
After you tap the iTunes icon, you can choose the quality of the file GarageBand sends to iTunes. You can also add artist, composer, and title information that appears in iTunes.
  • Sync your iPad with your computer. In iTunes, the exported song appears in the Documents list in the File Sharing area when GarageBand is selected.
  • Do one of the following:
    • Drag the song from the GarageBand Documents list to the Finder.
    • Click Save As, navigate to the location where you want to save the song, then click Save.

You can open the GarageBand song in GarageBand on your Mac, or play the audio file in iTunes (or any compatible audio application) on your computer. GarageBand songs cannot be opened on a Windows computer.
