Is there anyway to find an original owner to an Ipad. I have been given one but dont have Apple id or password for it

I have been given an ipad that is lockout and fo not know who the original owner is or the Apple id and password it was set up with. I would looked to know if there is anyway to find the original owner or what I can do about this. I would like to contact the original owners but do not know who they are.

If a second-hand iOS device has been 'Activation locked' then only the previous owner can unlock it, either by providing you with the account ID and password, or by removing it from his list of devices (as he should have done before parting with it) - please see http://support.apple.com/kb/ts4515

Apple cannot help you find who the previous owner was. If you are unable to contact him to do this then I'm afraid you will not be able to use the device - there is no other way of unlocking it at all. Apple cannot unlock it for you.
