how do i change default photo app from iPhoto to photos?

Whenever i attach a camera or iPhone the old iPhoto pops up and says i need to switch libraries. Obviously would rather have the Photos app be set as default but can't figure out how to switch it. I have OS X with an iMac.

iMac, OS X Yosemite (10.10.3)

When you connect your iPhone or camera launch Photos manually.

Select the device in the sidebar.
There will be an option in the upper left corner of the screen where you can enable "Open Photos for this device".

And in iPhoto set "Connecting Camera opens" to "No application".
