Hello I accidentally unzipped a malware file called EZ Pass ...does anyone know if it effects macs? I have disconnected and turned the mac off until I can figure out how to proceed.

If it didn't install anything delete all files you can find relating to this, then restart your mac.
Is it like this? If the .zip file did indeed contain .exe file, then nothing at all can happen to your Mac. Those are Windows program files which will not run on the Mac OS in any way. You'd have to have Windows installed and then run it there.
If this is all correct, then just delete the .exe file it extracted and the email it came in. You don't need to do anything else.
