itunes does not find music after new hard drive

Ok first time here, replaced my HDD on Toshiba satellite windows 8.1.after itunes does not find all my music, it does see and play about the first 12 or 15 albums but no more . says cannot locate on all others. using the locate does not find anything. I can see the songs in my library, click on and they will play through windows player, i can attach my ipod it does see that. try's to sync and maybe it does i do not know. when i go to right click songs and itunes asked if i want it to find the song, click yes it does find that song no others and it can be played in itunes. i did this on two songs after the second time when i checked itunes it had removed about 30 or 40 of the album cover art from the covers??? i am totally lost. .here is a screen shot of the path and other info i was able to find. this was moved from a backup of my complete itunes that i had saved before the crash. i just do not get why apple makes it so hard to move between computers and transfers??? hope this is enough info to help find an answer. thanks much!

Tried to find tracks just two tracks with find music, found them and that wiped out several of my album cover artwork in itunes?

Path from itunes library one song one album

This is my "missing file" boilerplate.

The "missing file" error happens if the file is no longer where iTunes expects to find it. Possible causes are that you or some third party tool has moved, renamed or deleted the file, one of its parent folders, or the drive it lives on has had a change of drive letter. It is also possible that iTunes has changed from expecting the files to be in the pre-iTunes 9 layout to post-iTunes 9 layout, or vice-versa, and so is looking in slightly the wrong place.

Select a track with an exclamation mark, use Ctrl-I to Get Info, then click No when asked to try to locate the track. (Due to a bug in iTunes 12 you currently have to say No twice!) Look on the summary tab for the location that iTunes thinks the file should be. Now take a look around your hard drive(s). Hopefully you can locate the track in question. If a section of your library has simply been moved, a folder renamed, or a drive letter has changed, it should be possible to reverse the actions. If the difference between the two paths is an additional Music folder in one path then this is a layout issue. I can explain further if that is the case.

In some cases iTunes may be able to repair itself if you go through the same steps with Get Info but this time click Locate and browse to the lost track. It may then offer to attempt to automatically fix other broken links. Although it says something like "use the same location" it expects to find the tracks in the same artist & album layout that it generates, not all in one big folder.

If another application like Windows Media Player has moved/renamed the files then the chances are that subtle differences in naming strategies will make it hard to restore the media to the precise path that iTunes is expecting. In such cases, as long as the missing files can be found somewhere, you should be able to use my FindTracks script to reconnect them to iTunes. See this post for an explanation of how it works.

There is a clue from your screenshot that your library wasn't in a proper portable layout (see Make a split library portable) which will explain why the restored version isn't working properly. Check under File > Library > Organize Library that the box for Rearrange files is greyed out, if not tick it now and click OK. Now try using the FindTracks script.

thank you much for your info. some how all the files have found themselves. i guess that when i did the yes find song for the two times that i did it even though it deleted a lot of album covers it must have found all 6000 songs. when starting the process to restore you sent me the songs all played. i then checked many songs throughout my entire library and everything i checked played as it always had. i did a random check from top to bottom and no more problems. i guess you must have waved your magic mouse and again saved the day!!! again a big thanks for a job well done! malco
