iTunes doesn't recognize iPhone

Hello fellow users!

I'd like you to read this before assuming anything:Battery drains very quickly

Anyways, after that happened, my phone has been dead and the same for 3 days. Nothing is working, tried a new charger but no results. I've heard iTunes can recognize it even if it's dead if you connect it to the PC but iTunes isn't recognizing the device. What should I do? (I am aware that a battery replacement is probably the solution, but anything else rather than that?)
