I have an iPhone 6 Plus running iOS 8.3. I have 2 bluetooth speakers, which are both connected. Only one plays at a time. Can I play both simultaneously? The speakers are a Jambox and an Aviator.

iOS only supports one Bluetooth device of a given type at a time. If you want to play over multiple speakers you need a 3rd party solution, such as a Sonos hub.
No, you cannot play both speakers at the same time. Only one device of the same type (e.g., speaker) can be connected at a time.

Some speakers will work with an app that will allow you to do what you want. I have a pair of UE Booms that I can connect via the app. I can use them as a right an left stereo speaker. It's something to consider when purchasing new speakers.
