Can I move videos from the Photos app to iMovie 10?

I currently store my iMovie Library on an external hard drive, while my Photos Library is on my internal iMac hard drive. I would like to move all the videos I currently have in my Photos Library to iMove in order to free up space on my internal hard drive. I can't for the life of me figure out if there's an easier way than to export all the videos out of Photos and then import them into iMovie. Anyone have any ideas?
