The mail app on my iPhone 4s is not working. You can open the app but it is blank apart from the compose email symbol in the bottom right hand corner. I have reinstalment the gmail account but this did not fix the error.

If you are having issues with your iPhone's Mail application not launching properly, you may want to try some things to troubleshoot.
First, quit all running applications and test again -
Next, I would try restarting and if needed resetting the iPhone -
Restart or reset your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch
