Windows 7 does not recognize my IPOD 5th generation.

I am running windows 7 ultimate

My IPOD is listed as 5th generation.

Model #: MC027LL

Serial #: ym******71V

For an unknown reason, windows no longer recognizes my IPOD.

I have done the following.

1. updated to the latest version of ITUNES 12.1.2.

2. uninstalled/ reinstalled apple mobile software. 3. Reset my Ipod. 4. Formatted my Windows, started all over Windows drivers completed up to date.

5. Connected IPOD to a different machine (Laptop) 6. Purchased a new USB cable.

I can plug in the IPOD to my computer and it will charge it back up.

Control Panel has Unknown Device. I read the manual on this and it explains to download the drivers for the IPOD.

Are those drivers part of ITUNES download? Are these separate drivers from ITUNES?

I have looked a good deal and can not find such drivers outside of installing ITUNES.

I go to reset my IPOD I go to settings, Reset, I select that and it takes me to language, I choose English and it goes right back to

the previous screen to select to rest or cancel.

How do you format this IPOD?

The IPOD works fine except windows does not recognize it.

Any help on this will be greatly appreciated.
