I have read reviews that wireless mouses don't work as well on macs versus PCs. What brand of mice do you all recommend? Include model name if possible. (I've been looking at the LogiTech m185 and m500).

Either get a Logitech mouse or one of Apple's. I use a Logitech G502. (its a gaming mouse, though.)
WWhy would mice not work with Macs as well as with PCs? Nonsense.
I would recommend skipping the mouse and purchasing an Apple Trackpad instead.
... or simply use the trackpad already built in to your MacBook Air.
It's been at least seven years since I've used a mouse.
