Greetings Bigjammer007,
So I understand you are trying to set up your son's devices - an iPad and an iPod - with the same Apple ID and want to use them in a Family Sharing environment, is that correct?
First question - does your son already have an Apple ID? If not, and he is 13 years of age or older, he should follow the directions on this page to create one -
Create and start using an Apple ID - Apple Support
If your son is under 13 years of age you will need to create the Apple ID for him using the steps found here -
Family Sharing and Apple IDs for kids - Apple Support
Once created, you or your son will need to set up each device with that Apple ID. Use the steps on this page -
Apple - iCloud - Learn how to set up iCloud on all your devices.
Then set up the family group, if you have not already. See this page -
Apple - iCloud - Family Sharing
To set up an Apple ID on an iOS device such as an iPad or iPod touch, follow the directions on this page -
Thanks for using Apple Support Communities.
Be well,
Brett L
I Have everything set up already. It gives me an error message when I try to sign him in to family sharing On the second device. It says this id is already signed into family sharing.
Hi Bigjammer007,
Thank you for using Apple Support Communities. Due to the nature of the issue you described you may find more information by using another one of Apple's support resources - https://getsupport.apple.com/GetproductgroupList.action.
