Hi everybody i just found an iPhone 4s 16gb on a cheap contract at the weekend. After much debating i decided to get this when i switched it on it has iOS 6.1.3 on it should i upgrade it to iOS 8. To me it just seems faster to leave it on that as i already have iPhone 6 plus on iOS 9. Is this iPhone 4s still covered by apple warranty thanks if anybody can help.
As you know that updated devices work faster and perform well. If you want to use iPhone 4s as routine user must be upgraded iOS version If you are facing problem to update your iPhone just read out all step by step process to easily update your device to a newer version of iOS

BTW, given the release and end-of-life dates for the model, I highly doubt it would still be covered even if it had AppleCare+. If you do get it, make sure it is unencumbered by activation to a previous owner.
HI I just checked it its covered to 29 June 2016 it seems to be working quite fast on iOS 6.1.3 at the minute I think I will wait to see what reports are like before updateing to iOS 9

What i meant was I found I brand new on contract still sealed in box with iOS 6.1.3 on it.
Unless they're paying you to take it, I fail to see the logic in buying it when the 5c is a better faster phone that will undoubtedly have a longer lifespan and is free on contract (from those carriers that still offer subsidies). Why would you pay anything at all for a discontinued phone under those circumstances?
I Already have an iPhone 6 Plus with iOS 9 beta 2 on it I wanted an iPhone 4s because it's still the best looking iPhone apple has produced & the contract was cheap. IT also has on iOS 6.1.3 on it i didn't know I could get an iPhone with that still on it sealed in a box
The only way to get a 4S at all is if it's been sitting on a shelf for a while. it's discontinued. If they're not paying you to take it, they're ripping you off.
