I Can't open word attachments in emails since iOS update. I used to be able to open them before the update. Also, I can open attachments that were originally opened prior to the update? I have tried turning the iPad on and off.

Try closing the mail app and force restart your iPad.
Press the Home button two times quickly. You'll see small previews of your recently used apps. Swipe left to find the app you want to close. Swipe up on the app's preview to close it.
To force restart the device, press and hold both the Sleep/Wake and Home buttons for at least 10 seconds, until you see the Apple logo.
Thanks for the suggestion Demo but it didn't work I'm afraid. Any other ideas?
A Further update......while I still can't open attachments from within the Mail App, I can open them when I go into my gmail account using safari or the gmail app??? The fault would therefore seem to be with Apples inbuilt Mail App? Any solutions anybody?
