Filevault 2 and files

Hello.

I'm on a MacBook Air - 2014 model with OS X Yosemite 10.10.3 installed.

I decided to try Filevault 2 and after 3 hours it finally finished encrypting my files.

Now I have a question: if I copy a file into an SD card or a USB device in order to put it into another non-encrypted Mac or on a Windows, will the file work?!

Does the encryption process, 'affect' the file in other computers?! Or is it just protected on my Mac?!

Thank you for any information you may give me.

It will work on another computer. Also note that if you are using an online backup service such as Mozy that if you download the file from their site to another computer it will also be usable.

Ok. This is definitely the answer I needed.

Thank you.

One last thing... in a few days I intend to perform a clean install on my Mac.

Will I have to reactivate FileVault 2 after installing everything? (Perhaps this is a silly question but, I just wanted to now if it's safe to do so with it activated!)...

Thanks!
