how to get original copy of Yosemite

HI! i have macbook pro late-2011. i was having the issue with its hard dive form past month and now suddenly it went completely off yesterday!

now i bought a new hard drive for my mac but it has no-thing to boot from!.

NOT EVEN RECOVERY PARTITION.

NOW the problem is that when i bought this mac i was not give any installation disc and by now there is no recovery partition in mac also. so

NOW from where can i get the copy of os x yosemite?

i have only another Windows PC but not any other mac! is there any way to download it from windows pc and make bootable media then?


-OR if not, i also have an iphone, is it possible to have download there?

i'm so confused please help!!

You may need to apply a firmware update to this 2011 hardware before you can even boot into recovery.


I suggest that you purchase Snow Leopard on DVD and install it. Perform software updates until nothing left to update. You will then be at OS X 10.6.8 supplemental. Do the firmware update if necessary, and then provided that you have 4GB (and ideally 8GB) of memory in this machine, then you can sign into the OS X app store from Snow Leopard, and download Yosemite. These late-2011 machines can support up to 16GB of memory from non-Apple sources.
