Ipadmini screen is transparent

After trying to fix the issues of slow loading and screen freezing on my ipadmini, I now have a problem with transparency on the screen. It's not just one certain app but anywhere where the background shows a dark and especially a light/bright colour, the page that I'm viewing becomes partially see-through, even browser bars and the column with history and bookmarks on Safari are semi-see-through. Anyone experienced with this problem? (Very noticeable when using Settings also.)

IT looks like the screen is backlit.
