Moving Country and Changing iTunes Store - what happens?

I have a UK iTunes account with Match and plenty of app, music, movie purchases.

Im moving to the USA next month and will have to change my account to a USA one as my UK bank details will be removed.

What I'd like to know is a) how do i do this and b) what happens to all my current purchases?

I don't want to risk losing them all and lost the 25K songs I have in iTunes Match (or at least have to upload them all again)

Fatboyslick,

Make sure you have downloaded all content to your computer and that in addition you have a backup copy on separate physical media.

Your apps will still work, but since you will no longer be able to update them, they will lose their worth eventually.
