IPhone 5 switches from 'charging' screen, to 'plug to iTunes' screen, to 'restart screen'. It has been doing this for over 12 hours now. It simply won't respond to pressing buttons or tips to restart. Anybody else? I don't want to go to the store.

I understand that your iPhone has been restarting and showing the Connect to iTunes graphic and is otherwise not responding. In this situation to begin troubleshooting, I would suggest reading over and working through the suggested steps in the attached article.
