Modern Wah automation not loud enough

I'm trying to use the Logic Pro X Pedal Board Modern Wah automation. I set the Auto Parameter from Read to Touch. When I solo and playback my guitar track and I use my mouse to go up and down on the Modern Wah it sounds really cool and the automation is recorded. However, when I play back the track, the effect is barely noticeable and doesn't sound at all like what I had just applied. I've been looking for more info/tutorials but I haven't found anything to help me. Has anybody experienced this? Any help and or resources would be very much appreciated.
