    Does the camera also go by a different name?   I cannot find   Canon Powershot A75 on the list of supported RAW formats for MacOS X 10 Yosemite.

    More like a system issue.  There have been a lot of reports of cameras not being recognized by 10.10.3 and Photos.  The workaround is to use to: A - use Image Capture to download the files to a folder on the Desktop and import form there; B - use a card reader to download to a folder on the Desktop and import from there. 

     

    Your camera doesn't shoot RAW so it's not affected by the RAW compatibility issues or updaters.

     

    Once you have your photos off the memory card try reformatting it with the camera, take some test shots and see if it is now recognized by Photos.
