You need 5.25 GB of available space to download OS X 10.10. Remove items from your startup disk to increase available space.

Trying to download Yosemite and get the following message: "You need 5.25 GB of available space to download OS X 10.10. Remove items from your startup disk to increase available space."

I have an Airport TC connected to the mac. Can i use some sort of partition to remove items from the start up?

Thanks..

Not on a Time Capsule. If you need an item currently located in your home folder, put it on a regular external drive and back that up to the Time Capsule; if you don’t, just delete it.
