sticky drink spillage on macbook - it works again, but how long for?

Hi, my daughter spilled a whole pint of Ribena onto my new 11" Macbook Air. I let it dry upside down for a couple of days, and when I turned it on it was as slow as an ancient Windows computer.

The Apple repair shop recommended to change the logic board, casing and battery, which came to more than my entire laptop. When I switched it on today, 2 weeks later, to take photos of it, it was working perfectly. My question is: Should I hope for the best and keep it? Or is it likely that it WILL stop? My insurance is happy to settle, so not sure what to do. Thanks,

Iris

Liquid damage is progressive. Backup the data while you can.

Settle the matter with insurance and buy a new Mac. That is my suggestion.

Best.
