MBA was working fine and while I was attempting to create a music library share I get the Password Reset screen I've attempted several time to get out of that screen and it's frozen. I only can do a hard shut down. Cannot get the Apple to shut down and when rebooting it comes back to the same password reset screen .. it will not let me reset however.

From your post it looks like you have an application which is unresponsive, thus causing your Mac to not shut down properly. Please try and force quit the app you were using by following the directions below.

Tried all of that Alex. I have to bring it in to a genius .. I'm totally locked out. spent about 2hrs on the phone w/tech and they couldn't help. Thanks for the response.
