I want to use my iMac 21.5 late 2009 model as a monitor for a Mac Mini. It does not have Target Display Mode. Can I do it?

Yes I read that and thus I know I don't have Target Display Mode(TDM) on my model. My question is whether I can convert the iMac into a monitor without TDM?
