Hi all
I have imported some footage successfully from my iPhone into FCPX as native H.264
I then optimised as suggested. However, I've noticed in the codec column in the clip browser that the clips are still H.264 and are seemingly going into my timeline as such. is this right? The optimized process was successful because there is a new folder with 422 media in it within the library

It's just the way FCP X reports clips in the Inspector – always the original. But it does use the Optimized if it's available, which is the case with your project.

The Info inspector always displays the original media information. The bottom of the inspector displays the available formats original, optimized and/or proxy.
