So is it just a storage for photos only? I cant store my data files on it from Windows PC?

I got it. I just needed to save my data(word, ppt, excel, etc.. files) from my windows PC to iCloud. However, another question is will they be able to automatically be backed up just as they are done on the iPhone for photos and contacts?
What does backup mean when you use it, a backup is an independent secondary version of a file, used when disaster strikes to recover, is that what you mean, if not then explain what you want to do.
