iPhoto Photos thumbnails not Opening (black photo) on External Monitor

Whenever I open iPhoto my thumbnails appear but when I click on them to open all I get is a black image.

HERE's the Crazy Thing. I'm using an external monitor via a usb 3.0 port replicator. If I drag the app from my External monitor to my laptop screen and reopen the photo shows up just fine. If I drag iPhoto back to the external monitor and go back and try to open another image I get the black "photo" again.

How weird is that. Videos in iPhoto play just fine but all 2k photos will not open.
