How can I search in endnotes?

I use a special character when writing to indicate stuff I need to go back to. I've just upgraded to the newest version of Pages, and now can't seem to search within endnotes for that special character. When I enter the character in the Find box, it indicates a number that means it sees the special characters in the endnotes. But when I page through the finds, it never goes to the endnotes. And when I go to the endnotes and try to search, it goes back to the main text.
