I was sent a quicktime movie but all I get on my pc is sound with no picture?

Running windows 8, yuck, and the qt file doesn't open with mediaplayer either.

Any suggestions for a fix?

Thanks

A "QuickTime" movie is normally defined as a file containing any form of data compatible with the system on which the file was originally created. If the video is will not play on your system, the the most like reason would be a lack of codec support for the video compression format. For instance, a FCP user might have sent you a file containing video compressed using one of Apple's proprietary or "Pro" editing codecs. Therefore, in such situations, the first step is to determine what video codec was used to create the file that was sent to you. Since you indicate the file can be opened in a player even if the video content cannot be played, you should probably check the player "Info", "Inspector", or "Properties" widow to determine what video codec is causing the issue here.
