How can I disable or remove an email account from the mail app remotely?

A coworker just got laid off, but the company gmail account is still linked with her Mail accounts. Is there any way to disable her from getting access? I have tried changing the gmail password already.

Changing the password should be sufficient.

I see that the best way to do this is to delete the account from the phone, but we do not have access to the former employee's phone...
