I can not access my Verizon Webmail

When trying to access my Verizon email abroad via webmail, using Safari on my IPat3 (V8.3), I get error: 3002.

I can access the webmail on the PC or on Android devices running Chrome.

Any special settings in Safari to correct that?

I get my Verizon mail on the IPad without problems, using POP and SMPT servers, but these servers are not accessible abroad.
