Apple TV and Sony Bravia - HDMI Cable issue?

Does it matter the age / type of HDMI cable you use to connect eh Apple TV to a Sony Bravia . I have tried 2 -3 cables all of which work with other devices attached to my Sony TV and to connect the Apple TV to my other TEAC TV.
