My gif files are no longer animated after uploading to the cloud.

I uploaded over 15k pictures to the cloud from my iPhone but my gifs no longer work. They appear as flat pictures without any animations when I email or text them. Is there a problem with gif support? How can I get my gifs back?

iPhone 5s, iOS 8.3
