iPhone 6 Plus... doing a restore backup from iCloud

Hi, I've recently upgraded to an iPhone 6 Plus and trying to restore the phone from my last iPhone iCloud back up. However, it's been 24 hours and still the phone says 'restoring from backup' at the bottom - all apps and photos appear to be downloaded. There is a very old Apple ID, which is my husbands, that is somewho attached to the account and I did skip this bit as he doesn't use it anymore. I've done an erase content and settings as it didn't do it the first time, and backed up from iCloud a second time - still been over 24 hours and not completed. Can anyone help please?
