Extremely slow downloading on iTunes.

Hello. Recently I've been attempting to download apps onto my iPhone via the iTunes Store on PC. However, this has proven near impossible due to constant download speeds of at maximum 2 Kbps resulting in a 200+ hours download time for most apps. I have noticed that plugging the computer directly into the modem fixes this issue but this is difficult to do this due to the modem being at least 20 meters away from me and I don't have access to it at all times. Any information on how to fix this would be very much appreciated. Thanks for your time.
