what do the checkmarks mean in my playlist?

Hello, I just tried burning a playlist to a blank CD and it only burned the songs that had the little box checked. What do these checkmarks mean and how can I get them all checked at one time without having to click on each box? I could find nothing in the help about them. I followed the instructions in the pop-up when I inserted the disk that said go to File/Burn Playlist to Disc, but that's not exactly what it does. Thanks!!

You can have items in your library but iTunes will ignore them for most purposes if the box is not checked.

Hold the command key ( or ⌘ key) and click a checkbox to toggle all marks.

To toggle a selection, right click the selection then 'check/uncheck selection'.

Thanks, that took care of it. I don't know why there is no mention of it in the Help. And there was no need for me to check/uncheck any of the selections, just clicking on the box toggled it back and forth for the particular item.
