Jul 14, 2015 8:58 AM in response to DNA Manby deggie,And you also reset your router?
This is where people come with problems so you would see it here. Doesn't mean it is common.

Jul 14, 2015 11:57 AM in response to tomkatby tatos,I contacted Apple's technical support and they don't seem to know anything about this issue. They only recommend to restore.
Hopefully iOS 8.4.1 will fix this...

Jul 14, 2015 3:16 PM in response to deggieby DNA Man,Problem solved. I took my iPad to a friends home and it logged on to their WiFi without any problem. I returned home and again could not log on to my home WiFi even after a router reboot. I decided for some unknown reason to change the WiFi channel to another [went from 8 to 3] and hey presto, my iPad accepts my WiFi password and I log on . Not sure why this should be. Perhaps, this fix will work for other users.

Jul 14, 2015 3:17 PM in response to DNA Manby Philly_Phan,That's weird. Try going back to channel 8 and see if it fails again.

Jul 14, 2015 3:19 PM in response to Philly_Phanby DNA Man,Yes, I get the login problem again. The iPad does not like channel 8. Pretty weird.

Jul 14, 2015 3:26 PM in response to DNA Manby Philly_Phan,I don't suppose you have any clue what channel was used at your friend's house?
I'm thinking that there is too much interference on Channel 8 in your neighborhood. My router is configured to automatically set itself for whatever channel it thinks will work best. I can believe that I'm assigning rational thought to a device! In any event, I don't check often but I have noticed that my channel assignment does change occasionally. If yours was set to always use Channel 8, it could be nothing but sheer coincidence that the problem occurred when it did. You might browse through the router's admin menus and see if an "auto" selection is available.

Jul 24, 2015 10:27 PM in response to Briansyddallby oemb1905,Alright, I had the exact same issues as everyone else. I have had iPods / iPads / iPhones for a while and also have developer account, just mentioning that as a context because Apple needs to be aware that iOS 8.4 is very sensitive. After getting what everyone else above and below reported, namely, my iPad started freezing during Podcast playback, I attempted a restore. Then, every time I tried a restore it failed. I even tried to roll back to iOS 8.3 - epic fail again. Here is what I recommend for anyone still having trouble.
1) Disable OS X Firewall, 3rd party firewalls, router firewalls, etc.
2) Unplug all peripherals (USB hubs, cd/dvd drives, flash drives, etc.) and do nothing else while restoring.
3) Accept doing a clean install and losing "backup" information as it just won't work well
4) Force restore by Briansyddall method above
5) Restart computer after doing step 2 above, and then plug iPad directly into machine
6) Click Restore & Update (Again, ONLY the device and iTunes running - NOTHING else until finished)
7) Manually add apps and change settings, do not use back up file
I literally worked on my iPhone and my iPad mini A1454 for 5 hours before I read through all the error codes posted by Apple here that made me try step 2 above. Once I did step 2 and 5 together, it restored perfectly the first time. So, tying this into what I said above, that I have had many iPads, iPhones, iPods, etc., the point is that it seems iOS 8.4 is very sensitive to firewalls, sensitive to peripherals, and sensitive to 'upgrading' versus clean installs, hence the issue in the first place. I would be surprised if the above did not work. First time I ever had to do this even with developer upgrades, etc., ...
Regards,
Haack

Jul 29, 2015 6:54 AM in response to tomkatby Genefromnm,I had problems upgrading my iTouch 2--to 8.4. It seemed to download ok. But in the final part, a notification a "verification code" would be sent to my phone. I do not have a smartphone or messaging. That stopped me for awhile. So I skipped that part. I turned off the iPad, then plugged it into my MacBook pro. I then held down the home button and off button at the same time. Finally the familiar screen returned and it seems to work fine. If this sounds vague. It is vague to me. I"m just glad the thing works now.
I also have a new iTouch, but I'm not going to upgrade to 8.4. enough is enough.
